'Leading doctors' my foot

What is this I hear?
"Twenty leading doctors call for ban on smoking in cars"

No. I will not encourage folk to smoke.
But I think that we have had quite enough of the convenient propaganda of the Nanny State. I think 'twenty leading doctors' jolly well ought to mind their own damn business. Who are these 'leading doctors', anyway - and who thinks they are 'leading'? Some newspaper; and who believes what they read in newspapers today in England?

I heard also today from a different source that submariners training for their work no longer do the tank test where they practised escaping from 100 foot deep..... because of Health and Safety. For it is considered too dangerous an exercise!

If this is true, and if, perish the thought, men became trapped a hundred feet down, I suppose it will henceforth somehow be safer for them to try and escape using a manouevre they have never had chance to practise.....??

In those circumstances, if such a thing ever were to happen and any were hurt,
I should devoutly hope the families of the mariners would sue the daft Ministry of Defence for every penny of its miserable budget for inadequately training the men.....
